The “Cairo Accord”- Towards the Eradication of RHD: An Update

Rheumatic heart disease (RHD) is the most common cause of acquired in children and young adults. It continues to be prevalent many low- middle-income countries where it causes significant morbidity mortality. Following 2017 Cairo conference “Rheumatic Heart Disease: from Molecules Global Community,” experts 21 formulated an approach for addressing problem RHD: “The Accord on Disease.” The attempts set policy priorities eradication acute rheumatic fever (ARF) RHD builds a recent series initiatives calls action. We present update recommendations discuss progress toward RHD, including contributions our own Aswan Disease Registry (ARGI).
